Lace Census Label - The Lace Guild

Label for the world wide census of lace makers being conducted by The Lace Guild.

Made in Aurefil Ne40/2.

The edging is the Chrysanthemum Butterfly Ground designed by Judith Markham in 1985 and this is Pattern #2 of the Chrysanthemum Butterfly Series  © Judith Markham 2001.

 Honiton Lace edging worked by Judith Markham 1984/5.

 The lace edging was mounted onto fabric by June Stringer (1985) and sent to Sweden as Australia's contribution to the 'Lace Around the World' exhibition and permanent collection.
The Lysraden lacemakers devised and organised the project and the collection is currently housed in the Limhamn Museum in Malmo, Sweden.
